Does the game include combat, or is it solely focused on building and colony management?
As Gord is a hybrid game, players will find themselves engaged in various activities such as building, exploration, quests, and the management of each unit's well-being. However, we wanted to provide more depth than a basic combat system where units simply attack the nearest enemy with a single move. With this in mind, the combat system has been created to strike a balance between giving the player a user-friendly but satisfying experience.
While every profession can participate in combat, there will be primary combat units. Both units and enemies possess two distinct attacks with different effects, including single-target thrusts and multi-target swings. The presence of diverse enemies, each equipped with unique attacks, abilities, and buff conditions, ensures combat remains intriguing. As the game progresses, players will find spell-casting through Incantations added to the mix, making battles even more engaging.
What kind of game modes will be playable in Gord?
Gord will feature two single-player game modes: Custom Scenarios and the Campaign.
Custom Scenarios:
- In Custom Scenarios, players have the freedom to shape their own experience by selecting from a diverse array of options. Whether aiming for a relaxing playthrough or seeking an insurmountable challenge, virtually everything can be customized!
- Pick your preferred primary objectives, set the level size, adjust raid intensities, decide on the environment and enemy types, allocate starting resources, and even control the severity of weather conditions. The power to tailor your adventure lies in your hands!
Campaign:
- The main campaign promises a captivating, story-driven journey. As players take charge of their people's fate, they must safeguard their survival and elevate their humble settlement into an imposing fortress. Throughout the adventure, they will encounter meaningful interactions with NPCs, uncovering the fascinating lore of Gord through the scattered pages of The Chronicle found across the land.
- While pursuing the campaign's primary objectives, players will also encounter an AI-driven quest system that enhances replayability by presenting an assortment of challenges to undertake.
