If you find you are experiencing frequent crashes when trying to play your game via the Steam launcher, we have put together some solutions that may help resolve this.
We would recommend working your way through these steps as your first port of call before seeking further support.

The game crashes during gameplay
Try enabling v-sync:
- Load the game
- Go to the settings menu - game
- Enable v-sync (make sure it is ticked)
- Save the change
- Test the game to see if the issue persists!
The game does not open
1. If you have any VR headsets plugged in, please unplug these and then test the game again.
2. If you have Citrix installed to your computer, you can reinstall Citrix without the driver that's causing the issue by following these steps:
1. Uninstall Citrix Workspace
2. Press the Windows key and type Microsoft Store and open the app
3. Find and install Citrix Workspace via the Microsoft Store app
4. Retest the game
The game starts in a tiny window/minimized
Before making any change in Registry please click 'File' > 'Export' to save your current registry state in a safe place. This will allow you to revert the change quickly via the 'Import' option later, if you need to do so, as these can change Windows system files.
- Press windows key + R
- Type "regedit"
- Go to to \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Team17\Overcooked2
- Double click Screenmanager Is Fullscreen mode_h(some random numbers)
- Under "Base", click Hexadecimal and enter the value 1 and click OK
- Double click on Screenmanager Resolution Height_h(some random numbers)
- Under "Base", click Hexadecimal and enter the value "300" and click OK
- Double click Screenmanager Resolution Width_h(some random numbers)
- Under "Base", click Hexadecimal and enter the value "550" and click OK
- Retest the game
Run the game as an administrator
Windows 10:
- Right-click the game in your Steam Library
- Go to Properties then the 'Installed Files' tab
- Click 'Browse'
- Locate the game executable (the application) and left-click it to highlight the application
- Right-click it and go to Properties
- Click the Compatibility tab
- Check the Run this program as an administrator box
- Attempt to run the game
Windows 11:
- Right-click the game in your Steam Library
- Go to Properties then the 'Installed Files' tab
- Click 'Browse'
- Locate the game executable (the application) and left-click it to highlight the application
- Then right-click it and select Show More Options
- Then select Properties
- Click the Compatibility tab
- Check the Run this program as an administrator box
- Attempt to run the game
